Kathmandu partners with Zentera merino

Kathmandu is continuing to strengthen its focus on responsible product innovation through a new multi-year partnership with New Zealand wool supplier Zentera Wool Company, bringing greater transparency and traceability to the natural fibres used in its products.

The collaboration will see Kathmandu incorporate Zentera’s ZQ+ certified merino wool into its Autumn Winter 2027 collection, supporting the brand’s commitment to sourcing high-performing materials with clear provenance from farm through to finished product.

ZQ+ certified merino provides traceability back to the farm and is produced by growers committed to animal welfare, environmental stewardship and regenerative practices. The partnership gives Kathmandu customers greater visibility into the origins of the materials used in their outdoor gear, while supporting the use of natural fibres designed for performance.

The partnership reflects shared values between Kathmandu and Zentera around quality, innovation and connection to place. Kathmandu’s product team has worked closely with Zentera’s growers, gaining insight into the farming systems and practices behind ZQ+ certified wool production.

As a certified B Corporation, Kathmandu continues to evolve its approach to product responsibility, investing in traceability, material innovation and more transparent supply chains. The partnership builds on progress across KMD Brands, including Kathmandu achieving 100% use of Responsible Wool Standard certified wool and sustainable cotton in FY25.
