Earlier this month Forsyth Barr released its fourth annual Carbon & ESG (C&ESG) Ratings Report, analysing over 8,900 data points across 55 of New Zealand’s leading NZX-listed companies. This year’s report sets a new benchmark for transparency and ESG performance, especially as global dynamics shift and expectations around sustainability continue to rise.
We’re pleased to share KMD Brands has once again been recognised as a Leader, ranking #1 in the consumer sector and among the top five companies overall, with an impressive A+ score!
Key highlights on our scorecard included:
- Maintained Leader status, ranking #1 in the consumer sector and top five overall – A+ score
- Achieved the highest Governance score across all included companies
- Improved our Carbon rating from B- to A, driven by reductions in Scope 1 and 2 emissions
- We’re one of three B Corps recognised amongst 55 companies
The Forsyth Barr report notes that while many companies are slowing or plateauing in their ESG efforts, we continue to move forward and make improvements.
ESG remains foundational to the Group’s purpose and vision and is a core part of each brand’s DNA. This year’s results demonstrate real progress - particularly in carbon management and governance - and highlight our commitment to making a positive impact for people and planet.
