A new collection celebrating performance, innovation and New Zealand pride

Kathmandu is proud to continue its partnership with the New Zealand Team, unveiling a new collection designed to support athletes as they represent Aotearoa at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Building on Kathmandu’s first New Zealand Team collection for the Olympic Winter Games, the Glasgow 2026 uniform brings together the brand’s expertise in outdoor performance, technical innovation and responsible product design with the pride and heritage of the Silver Fern.

Designed with athlete needs at the forefront, the collection has been developed to perform across every stage of the Games experience - from travel and village life to competition, ceremonies and podium moments. The range reflects Kathmandu’s commitment to creating products that are functional, durable and built for performance.

The centrepiece of the collection is the Podium Set, featuring a bold Tech Blue inspired by glacial landscapes and design details drawn from Kathmandu’s archival sporting heritage. The jacket and trousers incorporate recycled materials, including end-of-life car tyres, demonstrating Kathmandu’s continued focus on innovative solutions that deliver performance while reducing environmental impact.

The Opening Ceremony Jacket showcases Kathmandu’s approach to material innovation, combining natural-fibre performance with advanced Merino wool technology developed in collaboration with Woolmark and CSIRO. The jacket is designed to provide natural wind and water resistance, highlighting the potential of responsibly sourced fibres in high-performance apparel.

The collection also celebrates the connection between past and present, with the historic NZZN mark featured alongside the Silver Fern. Originally created for the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, the mark creates a link between New Zealand’s sporting heritage and the next generation of athletes.

Through close collaboration with athletes and rigorous testing in New Zealand conditions, Kathmandu has created a collection that reflects its purpose as an outdoor brand - helping people perform, explore and connect with the world around them.
